AVB is a filmmaker, writer, director and producer from Kerala, India, known for exploring psychological, experimental and narrative-driven filmmaking. His work is distinguished by an interest in human behaviour, perception and the relationship between reality and the mind, often expressed through atmospheric visuals and unconventional storytelling. AVB began his filmmaking journey with independent projects including Scenario (2024) and Deception (2024), followed by Malevolence, which marked a significant breakthrough in his early filmmaking career. He later wrote and directed Passingness, a Malayalam psychological thriller that further established his evolving approach to psychological tension, character-driven narratives and visual storytelling. His creative work has since expanded into commercial filmmaking through Starwood Films Advertising, where he directed major commercial films for Madhavam Ayurveda and Brandsdaddy Car AFE, bringing a cinematic storytelling approach to branded films. He also produced Niryana, Starwood Films Production No. 5, an experimental psychological thriller rooted in Hindu mythology, Sanskrit traditions and the spiritual landscape of Varanasi. To date, AVB's films have received 31+ international film festival selections and awards, along with 3 Honorable Mentions, with recognition from festivals across the world. Driven by a continued interest in writing, directing, cinematography and experimental storytelling, AVB continues to develop distinctive narratives that explore the complexities of the human experience.
